Our Windward Side wedding locations are more off of the beaten path, but create perfect postcard photo opportunites for you and your lover. The windward beaches are known for their beautiful white and long sandy beaches. Snugged close to the Koolau Mountain range you will also take beautiful shots with these mountains in the background.

Our North Shore wedding location are on the other side of the island, but are worth the drive. The North Shore offers the best sunset ceremony photo shots and are ideal for big waves and sandy beach photos.

Windward Side Locations East Oahu

Sandy Beach
About a 20-minute drive from Waikiki, Sandy Beach is very popular for body boarding and surfing. The surf is very strong, so if you want to hear crashing waves, this is a great place to go. There is a large grassy area about 100 feet back from the sand with plenty of room for a large or small ceremony. However, this beach is highly populated with sunbathers, swimmers, surfers and even ambulances throughout the day and night. Sandy Beach is never going to be a quiet getaway.

Waimanalo Beach Park
Waimanalo Beach Park is a unique mix of pine, palm trees, bright turquoise water, and shiny white sand. It is not over-populated and there are a large variety of photo opportunities. Located on the East side of Oahu, the sun will set over a towering mountain range to the West. Waimanalo is about 30 minutes from Waikiki.

Kailua, Lanikai
The beaches of Kailua and Lanikai are very popular vacation spots for those who are looking to avoid busy Waikiki. Located about 30 minutes from Waikiki, the stunning stretch of golden sand at Kailua will set the perfect stage for your beach wedding. Kailua town is also a great place to explore shopping, entertainment and quaint ocean residences.

Kualoa Beach
Located directly across the street from Kualoa Ranch, this beach offers panoramic views of the Kualoa mountain range and the small island called China Man’s Hat. Go horseback riding after your ceremony at Kualoa ranch, or take a romantic drive around the North Shore of Oahu. There is a campground located directly across from the beach so this is also not a perfect place if you are looking for privacy. Kualoa Beach is about a 45 minute drive from Waikiki.

North Shore Wedding Locations

Turtle Bay
With extremely limited public access, the beach at Turtle Bay is a perfect choice for a resort wedding. The bay provides for a much calmer surf than most of the beaches nearby. This is a great choice for a classic and private ceremony. If you are looking for a stylish experience on the North Shore of Oahu, Turtle Bay is a wonderful choice. Turtle Bay is about one hour from Waikiki.

Sunset Beach
Sunset Beach is definitely appropriately named. Located on the North Shore of Oahu, and facing West, the setting sun fills the sky with orange and red rays – a perfect contrast to the sparkling blue water below. During Winter, some of the largest waves in the islands of Hawaii crash down upon the shifting sand, yet in summer months, clear, calm water illustrates a flawless horizon, and of course – the exquisite sunset. The drive is about one hour and parking is very minimal, but the view is sure worth it.

Waimea Bay
About one hour and 15 minutes from Waikiki, Waimea Bay’s dramatic coastline is a one of a kind sight. Stand above the horizon and look out at the ocean and beautiful sunset of the North Shore. Take a walk to Waimea Falls at the Audobon Waimea Falls Park directly across the street. The waves will crash and the Valley plunges in Waimea Valley.
